Starlight is AMAZING! She is a 5 year old, 40lb spayed female Australian kelpie mix. She is house trained, crate trained, walks nicely on the leash, likes to ride in the car and look out the window, has done well with all dogs she's met from 9 pounds to 90 pounds, and has been great meeting new people, including children. She is happy to share her toys, food, and space with both people and dogs. She is quiet and calm in her crate and fine hanging out there by herself. She is a medium-energy girl who's up for whatever you're doing and then likes to come inside for a nap or lounge on the patio.
She's very polite in the house and is doing a great job of learning what is and isn't a chew toy! She hardly ever barks, and is not reactive to other dogs, people, cars, or cats. She has not had an up-close cat encounter yet, but has potential to do well with a proper introduction. She is currently in foster with a large senior male dog and is friendly and respectful with him. Starlight is learning her name and also cues for sit, down, come, and stay. She does well in public settings or just hanging out at home. She would be a great fit for many different types of homes but would probably love to have another friendly canine companion, or two! Starlight came into the shelter with a broken back leg and walks with a bit of a limp and runs with a bit of a hop, but she doesn't seem bothered by it - she can run, jump, play, and even swim just fine! She is medically cleared for adoption and is a once in a lifetime companion.
