Shelter Staff made the following comments about this animal:
Blue Danai (or just Blue as her friends all call her) is a sweet senior lady who desperately needs to leave the shelter. Blue is blind and that makes her far too vulnerable for the shelter environment. But, blind dogs absolutely thrive in home environments, mapping things out and living wonderful lives! Here’s a bit about Blue in her own words:

“My old family called me Blue and that’s what I respond to. I couldn’t tell you when I went blind, but I did, and navigating new spaces is a little difficult for me. If you click your tongue repeatedly or smack your hand against your leg, I’ll definitely hear it and come to you. I like back scratches, chin scratches and ear rubs. Did I mention I LOVE people? Those other four-legged creatures (dogs)…. Eh. I don’t have any cat experience either. I prefer to be your one and only so I can have your undivided attention. I can’t see other dogs’ body language, so I’d rather just not be around them. If you’re watching TV, I’ll sit quietly and listen with you. I love TV so much that it helps calm me down when I’m alone! I also like to fall asleep to instrumental lullabies. I will keep you company on a walk or explore the backyard with you. Those are my most favorite past times!”

And here’s what a PACC volunteer said about her:

“I met Blue today and what a love bug she is! I totally adore this sweet girl. She is blind and I have a blind dog at home so getting to know her seemed normal for me - and, of course, she is super sweet and loving so she made it easy. I can't say enough about how tolerant and adaptable she is! From the minute I met her, she was friendly and social with her tail wagging like crazy. This cute gal loves to be touched and talked to and she's also very food motivated - when I sat down, she immediately started rooting through my apron pulling out treats I had in the pockets! She has good energy and likes to play but she's also quite the snoozer - I walked past her kennel several times later in the evening and she was sleeping very soundly. I placed a large comforter in her kennel for her and I laid down on it with her and she started to snuggle with me and enjoyed rolling on her back for tummy rubs. I think this sweet girl would do well as an only dog in a calm, retirement-type of home with people who could spend a lot of time with her. She'd be a very loving companion.”

Blue needs a special family to give her the wonderful life she deserves- are you that family?? Please ask to meet her today!!
