Penny is a 6-year-old spayed female Parsons Russell Terrier. Like most terriers, she is high energy and has a mind of her own. Penny is friendly and loving, but will take advantage of an inexperienced or inconsistent owner. She's a "give her an inch and she'll take a mile" kind of gal! Penny is very smart, LOVES to play ball, highly food motivated (in fact, she has been put on a diet to shed a few extra treat-based pounds), and learns very quickly. She can be bossy and resource guard around other dogs, and would likely be best suited for a home with no other pets or children. As an example, she should not be allowed on furniture unless invited by her people, as she will start to "protect" the couch when she is on it first. Her ideal family would be quite active and have experience training dogs. With consistent boundaries, Penny is a wonderful companion.
