Reason animal needs rescue: Dog is fearful in shelter and uncomfortable with handling.

Additional notes: Dog allows minimal handling and is struggling in the shelter environment. Dog would benefit from rescue due to lack of resources of the shelter to support shy dog.

Large Dog Observation Notes:
Intake Type: Stray
Sociability: Jumps on handler with loose body posture. Allows pets from handler, but is more focused on the environment.
Handling: Unable to complete full handling at this time. When attempting to restrain, dog would give a head flip, and back away from handler.
D2D Like sized: Shows interest in other dogs, Recommend D2D
Kennel Presence: Front of kennel, alarm barking. Able to leash and take out with no issues.

Nervous in kennel, stays low to the ground initially, once leashed he walks out of kennel. While in yard, allows pets from handler, however backs away when attempting to restrain. Showed interest when walking by other dogs in the yard, would sniff with wagging tail and loose body posture. Recommend needs rescue or experienced handler with no small children due to fearful nature of the dog.

01/05/24 08:52 Jumps up on handler, seeks attention, growled when trying to listen to heartbeat. Unalble to touch rear end, sits down and gives warnings: loud mouth chomp . does not like head restraint, gives warning growl. able to muzzel to give vaccines.
