Buster is at the front of the kennel with a wiggly body and tail wagging. Able to leash and remove from kennel without issue. Walks nicely on a leash with a slight pull toward the play yard. Once in the yard, he has a relaxed body with an open mouth, soft eyes, and neutral ears. He also enjoyed chasing the ball, sniffing, and carrying soft toys. He will sit and lay down on cue. He takes treats nicely and is highly food-motivated. Will solicit attention. Allows some petting. However, he freezes with petting on his head or neck and will air snap if handling continues. As earlier stated in an adoption appointment, the adopter reached to pet him, and he put his mouth on their forearm with no skin broken. He has been fine with other dogs (large and small) and has been in playgroup. Recommend an adult-only home with a patient adopter who respects his space.

Front of kennel, able to leash and take out. Still unable to complete full handling due to dogs stiff body posture and reactive when being touched around the neck and left shoulder. Previous notes stated he was being shown to an adopter and when adopter pet him on the back, dog turned and attempted to bite adopters arm. No skin was broken. Recommend need rescue due to handling sensitivities.

Able to leash and take out. Unable to complete handle. Backs away and unable to complete handling. While returning dog to kennel, dog backs away when attempting to remove leash. Does not like being touched around the neck.

On 2/7/24, dog was being shown to a possible adopter. When the possible adopter went to touch his back, he turned and latched on their arm. No skin broken.

Front of kennel, wagging tail. When attempting to leash, dog would back away and avoid the leash. Once leashed, able to take out. While walking to yard, dog walked by other dogs and showed interest. Helper dog started barking, and this dog walked away and did not react. While in the yard, dog would come up to handler and lean against handler allowing pets. Recommend experienced handler and no small children.

Date animal needs rescue by: asap
Impound type: stray
Additional notes: Shy, slightly fearful neutered rottweiler. Good kennel manners, will approach front of kennel and lick hand nicely. Suspect old cruciate ligament injury based on low grade intermittent lameness and size (BCS 7/9), does well on galliprant. See behavior notes below.

Able to leash and take out of kennel, when closing of half of the kennel. While in yard, would come up and sniff handler. Shows interest in ball and to play. Did well with another like sized dog. Would sniff helper dog, then walk away when dog was not interested. Took treats gently. No issues placing back into kennel. Unable to complete full handling on this time. Did not want to stress out the dog, so did not attempt to restrain.

Did more kennel socialization over the past few days. Warming up much more wagging tail while entering room/upfront at kennel. More desensitized with hands against kennel with no treats. Pushed body up against kennel and was able to scratch him through the bars but after a few seconds snapped his head. did not attempt to take out reccomend more socialization from more people.

Derek D. and I did kennel socialization. When entering the room he was not barking and upfront at kennel. Very treat motivated and will sit for treats. Will take treats from hands through kennel but occasionally gets snappy and growls when you make long eye contact or when placing hand near kennel without treat. Go slow, shy, did not attempt to take out of kennel but reccommend more sociallzation. Katchin

attempted to take dog out for vaccines, initially growls but seems more scared than aggressive. very shy and scared in kennel but approaches door to investigate before retreating. Very treat motivated but still nervous so go slow. took to side yard to help decompress and noticed he isn't interested in handler or treats in a new space. Interested in dogs walking by, doesnt act aggressive or excited so unable to tell if dog is friendly or not. Came up and licked my hand and then turned away and growled. I got up to get further from dog and it turned and air snapped at my hand, no contact was made but was attempted. Dog seems very interested in affection but is far too nervous to receive any at this time. Was able to take back to kennel with assistance and slow when taking leash off, as he seems head shy -AN
