Today I got out on an early morning adventure to Almaden Lake Park! Me and my walker-friend walked around the lake twice together where I got to stop and sniff all the spots and bird watch by the lake. It was a beautiful, warm, sunny morning which was perfect for me because I love to lay in the sun. We relaxed together and soaked in some vitamin D by the picnic tables and also played catch with a ball for a bit!
Three Words to Describe Me are: Well-Mannered, Low-key, Loyal
Notes from My Walker: Sweet Willa Bean! There’s a reason she is loved by so many - once she lets you into her heart, it’s impossible not to fall head over heels for her.

Willa is very calm when she greets you, and also a little shy. It makes her super duper easy to gear up to go out as she isn’t energetic and jumpy like some. She jumps into the backseat so gracefully and lays down nearly the entire trip. However, she very much enjoys an open window in the back to look out of and feel the breeze as you take her where you need to go.

On our walk, Willa was fantastic as always. She never pulls and is also checking in with you (she knows she gets a treat for this). I have nothing but positive things to say about her leash skills - she’s a pro. When passing other dogs she is curious, which is very easily redirected with treats, but it’s never aggressive. She will sometimes be a bit vocal depending on the dog. She and I have been out 3 times to 3 different busy parks and I have only seen this behavior twice and I have redirected her with no issues every time.

I started to call her “Chilla” Willa as she is one of the most low-key pups I’ve been out on DDO with. She loves to walk and explore, but has a strong affinity for just relaxing in the sunshine. We spent 30-45 minutes of the morning together just soaking up the sun and people watching. I think she would thrive in a home where she could be outside in a yard working on her sun-tan.
She would also do well in a home with a great yard as the only thing that I’ve seen her light up for is a ball. She will carry it while walking and then loves to play catch on the long lead. This is where you really see her athleticism shine! She will jump very high and catch it every time while making it look completely effortless.

Willa napped in the backseat as we drove back to the shelter. I made sure to tell her how special and loved she is before heading back to her kennel! She’s a perfect girl who is just waiting for the right person to notice how lovely she is. She may not want to be the star of everyone’s show, but she definitely will do her best to be the star of yours!
