Shelter Staff made the following comments about this animal:
Togo is a sensitive senior sir who came to the shelter as a stray and has been working hard to adjust to the shelter routine. Here’s what a few of his friends have said:

“I've been walking Togo once a week for the last four weeks. He was initially skittish about leashing, but last week he voluntarily approached to be leashed. He has also progressed with regard to touch and has enjoyed being brushed. He is a good loose-leash walker who is calm during sitdowns. He is not reactive to other dogs. Togo is a gentle dog and I enjoy my time with him.”

“Togo has improved with leash walking. He is still a little wary but will approach for treats and some touch. Leashing and unleashing are no problem. I think he is learning the routine and making progress!”

“I took Togo to the nearest play yard where he explored for a bit. He came very close to me to take treats with a very gentle mouth; cautious but curious. He allowed for chin scratches at first, then neck, shoulders, and ears. He LOVED having his ears scratched and leaned into me for the good stuff.”

Togo needs a patient family who will take things slow and help him build confidence, but he’s shown so much progress in the shelter that we just know he’ll flourish in the right home! He has generally kept to himself when meeting other dogs in playgroup and would like to meet any resident dogs before heading home to makes sure it’s a good fit. Ask to meet Togo today!
