Shelter Staff made the following comments about this animal:
Herbert is a happy young pibblepotamus who would love to find a home of his own! The shelter is a boring and frustrating place for a young, energetic boy like Herbert. Herbert is friendly, goofy, and a typical bouncy young dog. He loves going on walks and has a playful, goofy personality.

Herbert spent a bit of time in a foster home where he did great with kids as young as three and with another resident dog. He was well- behaved when left alone, housebroken (always allow an adjustment period in a new home!), and was described by his foster as friendly, cuddly, and playful. Herbert was working on crate training and loves to run and play.

Herbert is a field trip regular and has been all over town- to Rillito River Park, to Dutch Bros., to explore the U of A Campus, and to Starbucks. He’s gotten glowing reviews every time, and reportedly even makes a great wingman if you’re looking to catch the attention of someone special. Good job Herbert!! He also does great in the car!

Here's what volunteers at the shelter have said:

“Herbert is a goofball and a bouncy pup. He’s playful, knows sit, watch me, and paw, and takes treats softly. On our walk looked back often with his big smile.”

“Herbert had to wait all morning to go for a walk and was quite excited. We went to a play yard first where he played with a tennis ball for a bit, returning it and dropping for another throw. On our walk he was a great, polite walker and enjoyed rolling in the grass. A pleasure to be with.”

“Herbert was very excited to get out of his kennel. He was very treat- motivated and sat nicely and waited for his treats! He got some great zoomies. Herbert is an absolute darling dog.”

Herbert has shared his kennel with another shelter pup and has been social, playful, and easygoing when meeting other dogs in playgroup. He’d like to meet any resident dogs before heading home to make sure it’s a good fit. Ask to meet Herbert today!!
