Shelter Staff made the following comments about this animal:
Domingo is a handsome boy who graduated from PACC’s decompression program for shy and fearful dogs. Domingo has made great progress and is ready to continue his journey in a supportive home environment with a patient family who will take things slowly. Domingo recently spent a few days at home with one his volunteer friends:

“For a dog apparently feral before coming to PACC, he did very well- he got along with the resident dogs, proved housebroken, and was far more accepting of human contact than expected. When I first met Domingo, he was very frightened. He seemed unused to a leash or the concept of walking with a human, showing simultaneous fear of and attraction to people. Now he looks forward to his walks, and even sometimes enjoys scratches.

It’s clear that Domingo is unused to the human world of cars, houses, and TVs. When uncomfortable, he found a couple of places he felt safe. One was in my office with me. The other, surprisingly, was on our bed with us. On walks in the neighborhood he seemed reasonably relaxed, even when we stopped to talk to other people. In my experience at PACC, Domingo is a unique dog, and I believe he strongly wants to be part of a family. He just needs time, understanding, and help to work through his fears and old habits to get there.”

Domingo shares his kennel with another shy pup and kept to himself when meeting other dogs in playgroup. He’d like to meet any resident dogs before heading home to make sure it’s a good fit. Please ask about Domingo today!
