Our dapper boy Dax says hello! How can anyone resist that handsome face? Dax is a 1-year-old dog that is eager to leave the shelter. He has made lots of playgroup friends that have taught him how to be a playful pup and understand boundaries while having fun. Dax enjoys spending time with the volunteers as well and always shows us his perfect “sit” for treats so we don’t doubt he’ll enjoy training and learning more commands and manners in his new home. Young dogs like Dax are great trainees because they love a good treat and keeping them active is highly recommended. If you have a dog at home, Dax would love to meet them and even be their permanent best friend, so long as there are proper introductions and management. Dax hasn’t had the chance to meet kids yet, but this playful pup may do better with older children or even families that have had experience with young energetic dogs. ADOPTION INFO: Adoption hours are 12pm – 6pm every day at our shelter at 2741 S. Western; please visit https://www.chicago.gov/city/en/depts/cacc/provdrs/care/svcs/adoption.html for more information. The adoption fee is $65; all dogs will be current on core vaccines, microchipped, heartworm tested, and spayed or neutered prior to adoption. For city of Chicago residents, the adoption fee also includes a city dog license.
