RESCUE ONLY DEADLINE 3PM 05/11/24 CURRENTLY ON A BITE QUARANTINE AVAILABLE FOR MEET AND GREETS STARTING 1:30PM 05/08/24

Name: Pac-Man
Animal ID: A836735
Age: 3 years
Weight: 65 LBS.
About: This is Pac-Man, a big handsome boy looking to find placement with an adopter through a partnered rescue group by 3pm on 05/11/24. Pac-Man is currently on a 10-day bite quarantine that started on 04/28/24 and will end at 12:00pm on 05/08/24. He will be available to meet on 05/08/24 at 1:30pm when PACC opens.

Pac-Man is new to the shelter, he came in as a stray on the 17th, so we don’t know much about him or how he is in a home environment. He was reported for being at large and attempting to start an altercation with a dog that was being walked. A good Samaritan heard the commotion and was able to assist by grabbing Pac-Man by his collar and confining him in his yard until an officer could arrive to pick him up.

While in the shelter Pac-Man was introduced to other dogs in a playgroup, he was a little stiff and awkward with greetings but gave appropriate corrections when he wanted space. After a little time in the yard with the dogs he did engage in play with one of the female dogs in the yard. He can be a little stubborn when walking on leash; stopping and going, he is a strong boy and does pull, so a harness might be good for him with walking.

Pac-Man is currently on a 10-day bite quarantine for a bite to a member of staff. The staff entered his kennel to clean up a mess, at the same time other staff members were walking by with dogs to put in their kennels and Pac-Man got overstimulated in the kennel and redirected on the staff member that was in his kennel, biting on the thigh and then on the hand.

If you are interested in Pac-Man, you MUST come to PACC to meet with one of our counselors to discuss all his history, after that you will get to meet with Pac-Man in a yard. Pac-Man will need to meet any dogs that he will be going home with to make sure it is a good fit. You can come to PACC to meet Pac-Man at 1:30pm when PACC opens on Wednesday May 8, 2024. If the meet and greet goes well and you are still interested in adopting Pac-Man, PACC will give your information to a partnered rescue group who will contact you to go through their process. It is the rescue groups degression if they pull Pac-Man.
