RESCUE ONLY DEADLINE 3PM 05/06/24

Name: Gibson
Animal ID: A835530
Age: 1 year 6 months
Weight: 95 lbs.
About: If you’re a musician, and specifically a guitar player, you know that a Gibson is the way to go! It’s one of the best, so it’s no coincidence that one of our best boys is named Gibson too! This big old brindle baby (and he really is just a baby at under two years old) was a bit unsure when he first came to the shelter- who can blame him? It’s a pretty overwhelming place! But Gibson has already started to learn the shelter routine and has endeared himself to staff and volunteers alike. He can usually be found at the front of his kennel smiling and wagging his tail, patiently waiting for his turn to go on a walk. Here’s what staff and volunteers have said about him:

“I first met Gibson when he was new to the shelter and I couldn’t wait to help this scared baby acclimate. When I walked him for the first time he was easy to leash, seemingly eager to get out of his kennel. He wasn’t focused on me at all but walked nicely and returned to his kennel easily. The next day I walked him again and he showed more personality. Still more focused on his surroundings and sniffing all the smells, he finally did give me a quick kiss to the cheek - WIN! He has opened up so much. He meets you at the kennel door with a loose body and waggy tail. He has really grown on me and I knew he had this potential in him to shine!”

“I spent some time with Gibson out in a yard today. He spent about ten minutes exploring the yard and paying no attention to me. He then approached me and I was able to slowly pet him. After this interaction, he warmed up immensely and approached me multiple other times for affection and would even lean into me when I would stop petting him. He is a very sweet, gentle boy who just needs a lot of love and patience.”

Recently Gibson did find himself in a new home, but he didn’t have enough time to adjust in the new home, he was only there for three days. He lived next door to someone that had an outdoor dog, so every time that Gibson went outside, he was reactive and when he went back inside, he was still fixated on that dog. Gibson will need some training to help with his reactivity.

Gibson will need to find placement though a partnered rescue group before 3pm on 05/06/24. If you are interested in meeting Gibson, you MUST come to PACC and meet with a councilor to go over his history and then meet him in a yard before going home. PACC will then send your information to partnered rescue groups, it is at the rescue group’s discretion if they want to pull Gibbson for you to adopt or foster.

****Please note: Because Popper’s deadline is being sent out near the end of the day on 5/2, his deadline is 5/6 to ensure he gets his full three days.
