Shelter Staff made the following comments about this animal:
Archer is the SWEETEST by who has gained so much confidence during his time in the shelter. When he first arrived, he was extremely overwhelmed and unsure of his surroundings. Nowadays, he’s a completely different dog! He’s affectionate, happy, and always eager to leave his kennel to spend time with his people friends. Here’s what one volunteer said about him:

“I can’t say enough about Archer! When I first met him shortly after he arrived at the shelter, he was uncomfortable walking on leash and was a bit leery about touch and affection. Fast forward a little bit and talk about a dog who has completely blossomed! He’s gained so much confidence in a short time and has followed the lead of his kennelmate, who has shown him “how to dog”. These days Archer is waiting at his kennel door with a wagging tail and walks nicely on leash. He asks for affection and loves scratches on his face, head, and ears. Archer is an incredibly nice dog who, with just a little bit of transition time in a new home, will make a fantastic companion. I love him!”

Archer would love to find a family who will go at his pace as he settles into a new environment and who will help him continue to build confidence. He has a huge heart to share and will make an amazing companion! Archer has learned so much from other dogs at the shelter and well- matched, confident friend in his future home would be wonderful for him. He has been social and tolerant when meeting other dogs in playgroup and is looking for a home without small dogs. Please ask to meet Archer today!!
