Shelter Staff made the following comments about this animal:
Scrappy Cornelius Doo was the nephew of Scooby Doo and his famous catchphrase was “Puppy power!” Our Scrappy Doo may not exactly be a puppy at around four years old, but he definitely has the power to win your heart!! Here’s what a couple of his volunteer friends have said about him:

“Scrappy Doo is a handsome young dog who is very eager to get out for his walks but settles after a few minutes of walking. He’d probably be a good hiking or jogging companion. He is very friendly and likes being pet. Nice boy who needs more exercise and stimulation than we can give him in the shelter.”

“Scrappy Doo was calm and his tail was wagging when I approached his kennel. He was easy to leash and leave the kennel area with. He would make an awesome hiking/adventure buddy, I can already tell. He was friendly, made good eye contact, took treats nicely from my hand, and he accepted lots of pets and attention. Love this big-headed boy!”

During a brief stay in a home Scrappy Doo did well with another resident dog his size and was described as playful and affectionate:

“He is a very sweet loving dog who needs time, attention, and training. Since being in our home, he has become more comfortable in a home setting. He likes to now get on the couch and lay down or lay on the dog beds and he loves affection.”

Scrappy Doo will need a supportive family who will give him time to settle into a new environment. The rule of 3-3-3 is an important one- expect three days for an adopted dog to feel overwhelmed and nervous, three weeks to settle into a new home, and three months to build trust and bond with you. Scrappy Doo has been playful and social when meeting other dogs in playgroup. Ask to meet him today!
