Shelter Staff made the following comments about this animal:
Meet Clark Griswold! Ok, ok- his first name isn’t actually Clark. He’s a dog, so he just has the one name (at least until he has a family to give him their last name). And while he may not share a surname with the iconic National Lampoon character, Griswold would love to curl up on the couch and watch the Chevy Chase movies with you! When spending time with staff and volunteers Griswold has been sure to show off his snuggling skills- he loves to lean on you and be near you! Here’s what some of his volunteer friends have said:

“Today Griswold behaved very well. He was easy to leash and we went on a leisurely walk around the lake. He was quite interested in a crane flying overhead!”

“First time walking Griswold. He was a little shy but he did enjoy the treats I offered and we were soon friends. Leashing was easy. He loved exploring all the sights and smells down in the wash. He proved to be a delightful walking companion, checking in regularly with good eye contact. He is treat motivated (gentle mouth) and remained calm as I fetched the goodies, but he hasn't yet mastered "sit" (he would be a quick study). His leash manners are good and could be refined with some simple training. He is comfortable with touch and became more affectionate as we continued on our walk. He actively sought out additional treats and affection. Griswold is a fine dog who will form a strong bond with an active partner.”

Griswold has also become a popular field trip buddy, exploring the U of A campus and sampling pup cups and hamburgers all over town. He’s been swimming, had a sleepover, and even visited a sorority house!

“We had so much fun with Griswold. He warmed up to us quickly and was super well behaved overnight. He didn't bark once the whole time we had him. Although he has lots of energy and LOVES to play, he is super well behaved. BEST DOG EVER!”

“Griswold had a great day and adjusted quickly. He loved playing fetch with toys and took a small dip in the pool. He is very playful, but also calm.”

Griswold shares his kennel with another PACC pup and has been social, playful, and easygoing when meeting other dogs in playgroup. He can be a bit nervous at times, so needs a little help from his future family to build confidence. Ask to meet Griswold today!
