Dr. Pepper has a confession…. he’s not actually a doctor. He’s a dog! This young, bubbly puppy is ready to leave the shelter today! At just about a year old, he truly is just a baby and should be learning all of his big boy skills in a home of his own. Dr. Pepper is a friendly, happy guy and would make a great companion for any adventure!

Dr. Pepper spent a bit of time in a foster home where he did great with another resident dog and loved to play. He enjoyed sleeping near his foster people at night and was a high-energy houseguest who loves bully sticks, bones, balls, squeaky toys… pretty much anything he can play with!! He was reportedly crate trained and was described by his fosters as very sweet, cuddly, and curious.

“He is such a loving dog. He wants to please his people but sometimes gets distracted. He knows how to sit, spin, “bunny”, and “down” is a work in progress. He loves sleeping in bed curled up with our other dog, will do anything for treats, and is very much still a puppy in excitement, energy, and boundaries.”

In his most recent home Dr. Pepper did well with kids and other dogs of all sizes. He doubled down on his playful, puppylike reputation and was described as playful and affectionate. As in his foster home, he did well when crated.

Here's what Dr. Pepper’s friends at the shelter have said:

“I took Dr. Pepper out last night and we headed out around the lake. We stopped at a spot to hang out for a bit and he settled down, offering me his belly for rubs and licking my face all over. Dr. Pepper is very loving and fun. He has puppy energy and needs as much exercise and enrichment as possible.”

“OMG! I’m in love! I walked Dr. Pepper today for the first time and he stole my heart. He’s so handsome and the perfect size, takes treats nicely and offered a good sit. His coat is beautiful, and he has ears for days that make him so expressive and adorable. He’s a one-of-a-kind fella who will steal all the hearts.”

“This super sweet little guy has ears a mile long and that curly Basenji tail! I can't believe he is still here! He loves to sniff everything but is fairly good on leash.”

Dr. Pepper shares his kennel with another PACC pup and was social and playful when meeting other dogs in playgroup. Ask to meet Dr. Pepper today!!
