Magee is the cutest, most compact little hippo at PACC! He’s a friendly little firecracker who would love to go on adventures with you! Here’s what his volunteer pals have said:
“Magee is one of my favorite walking buddies. He always greets me with a wagging tail and a huge smile. He loves his treats and leashing is easy while he savors a snack. He loves the fresh air and can pull a bit as we exit, but he generally settles into a nice pace once we leave the shelter. He alternates between inspecting every interesting scent and checking in with me, and I'd have to say we make a great team. Fresh dew on the grass makes a wonderful bed for rolling around and soliciting belly rubs. The bushes around the shoreline often hide those sneaky birds, so we have to check every one. His great sit and huge grin earn him frequent treats, which he takes from my hand with a gentle mouth. Magee is a fine dog who will form a loving bond with his forever partner.”
“Magee is a compact bundle of joy, always ready to greet his friends with the perfect, slobbery smile and expressive ears. He settles into a nice walk and sometimes will go for a short jog, but those little legs get tired quickly. He LOVES to play fetch and chomp on a tennis ball. He will exchange the ball for a treat or swap for another ball. He will play fetch as long as you let him, or until he sees an opportunity for pets. I find a bench and he will sit right next to me, or more often, climb onto my lap. Magee is truly one of my favorite pups to spend time with.”
“Today was my first time meeting Magee. He was calm in his kennel when I approached and was easy to leash. He went potty as soon as we got outside and then we started off on our walk. We had a really nice walk together, and Magee enjoyed sniffing all the smells - huge smile on his face the whole time. He remained calm and happy the entire time and walked nicely on leash. Return to kennel was easy, he stood calmly and nicely accepted a treat before I left.”
“This was my first time walking Magee. He knows ‘sit’ and ‘paw’ and takes treats nicely.”
“Magee is a cute and playful guy who knows many tricks (sit, watch me, paw). He walks well on leash; he can be jumpy when excited and likes to give kisses, but does listen to being told “no”. He's a just happy and playful guy.”
Magee has been social and tolerant when meeting other dogs in playgroup and would like meet any resident dogs before heading home to make sure it's a good fit. Ask to meet Magee today!
