Shelter Staff made the following comments about this animal:
Breezer is a sweet little fella who was reportedly stray for some time before a nice person helped get him to PACC. His finder described him as a bit nervous but very friendly. During a brief adoption Breezer showed that he’ll need time to settle into a home environment and will need a patient family. He was even unsure of the television, and everyone loves to watch TV! But, with a little patience and support, Breezer is sure to bond with his future family and thrive. His adopters said that he walks well on leash, is playful, and is always by your side. They said that he knows tricks, is affectionate, and loves toys.

Here's what just a few of Breezer’s many friends at the shelter have said about him:

“Breezer has become a very special guy to me. He is so happy when I go to take him out and lets me pet him all over. He does get anxious at times, so I will usually sit down with him and just pet him and try to comfort him. Breezer just needs more exposure to the outside world. He is still so young and now with all the time he has spent at PACC he hasn't been given a chance to become comfortable with what he believes is a scary world. When I spend time with him in his kennel he is a happy wiggly guy. He deserves a chance to get into a home and be shown love because I know he would be an awesome dog. I hope that home comes soon.”

“Breezer was terrified when he arrived at the shelter. He has come so far in his time at PACC! While still shy and sometimes startled by loud noises, he is walking much better on the leash. He enjoys being pet by his volunteer friends and even allowed me to easily cut his nails for him. A loving and patient home is what he needs most!”

“Breezer has been returned to PACC after a two-day adoption, so I was sure to visit him. He seems to be doing great! He was happy and wiggly when I took him out and walked more confidently than before. I stopped at my vehicle to get something, and he put his front paws on the door frame like he was ready to go for a ride. In the play yard with his kennelmate, he was play bowing and they had a great time chasing each other around. I also was able to get in all my snuggling and loving that I wanted with Breezer and he is totally affectionate back. I have such a soft spot for this little guy and just want his future to be bright. I know he needs a special home and I wish every day that it comes for him.”

“I've been walking Breezer regularly and it has been wonderful watching him gain confidence and blossom into a fine walking companion. He greets me warmly with a loose body and wagging tail, and leashing is easy. Once outside we get into the serious business of exploring all the interesting sights and scents. We often go down into the wash to go for a hike without the distractions of other dogs or walkers. He has rather refined tastes and ignores my low-value treats, but he will happily take a piece of chicken from my hand with a gentle mouth. He must be a fan of the poet Robert Frost as whenever we come to a junction, he always chooses the road less traveled. He can be a little shy with touch, but I respect his boundaries and enjoy his companionship. Breezer is a fine dog who is little shy with new people, but is sure to form a strong bond with a patient partner in a quiet home.”

“Today was my first time meeting Breezer, and I really enjoyed the time we spent together. He was calm, walked with a loose leash, and followed my lead. He zig zagged some as we first started off on our walk, but the further we went, the more comfortable and relaxed he became. He's a very curious, independent boy who I loved watching as we walked. He accepted some pets as we sat by the lake, and he enjoyed watching the birds. By the end of our walk, Breezer was trotting right by my side, happy and content - a perfect walking buddy. Very sweet boy.”

Breezer is looking for a quiet home and a family who will help him continue to build confidence. Dogs who have spent long stays in the shelter need time to adjust and decompress, which takes more than just a day or two. But, if you can go at Breezer’s pace, he has a huge amount of love to give. Breezer shares his kennel with another PACC pup and would like to meet any resident dogs before heading home to make sure it’s a good fit. Ask to meet Breezer today!
