Shelter Staff made the following comments about this animal:
Hoover is a young dog who has found himself in a tough spot, having been surrendered to the shelter after spending his whole young life in one home. His former person described him as generally calm and easygoing and said he has done well with an eight-year-old kiddo in the home. Hoover was housebroken in his former home and did well with other resident dogs similar in size. His person said he’s a happy bouncy boy who loves to jump up and give kisses. Here’s what Hoover’s volunteer friends have said about him:

“I met Hoover today and we headed out for a walk. He loves to sniff everything. There was no pulling during his walk- in fact, he is a great walker. He took note of loud sounds (sirens) and watched people who were coming into the shelter but would quickly move on. We had a very pleasant walk. He is a bit shy and needs some TLC. We returned to the kennel and he enjoyed some treats.”

“I took Hoover for a walk tonight. He enjoyed a walk in the park and sniffed a lot of good smells, ignoring other dogs. He did not pull and was a very good boy who enjoyed some head scritches. Hoover is still trying to figure out this new shelter environment and really needs to find a home.”

Hoover shares his kennel with another PACC pup and was tolerant when meeting other dogs in playgroup. He was nervous at first but loosened up and wanted to play, though wasn’t quite sure how. He also wanted attention from the handlers in the yard, but was bit shy asking for it. This sensitive little fella will do great in a home where he’ll be given time to warm up to new people and feel safe. He’d like to meet any resident dogs before heading home to make sure it’s a good fit. Please ask about Hoover today!
