WHAT CHERRY'S FOSTER WANTED TO SHARE ABOUT HER
Cherry is a fun loving girl who is very mellow! She can be independent when you're busy but loves cuddles and attention. No aggression towards people seen, some excited barking towards other dogs she sees. Loves walks, not sure how to use toys but likes to get excited and run around. Cherry has been very sweet to anyone she has met and would be a great dog for most households. She has met a 3 year old girl and was very gentle, letting the girl pet her. She sticks to me almost all the time, so I'm guessing she will be happier in a place with more than one person. She does well on leash, but most of the time when I put a little bit of tension on the leash she knows to slow down. She is not that great about meeting other dogs. She tends to want to create conflict but if it is not given to her by the other dog, she will start to move on. She needs another older dog who will not react to her pushy-ness.

Cherry came to us with 3 masses. The first mass was an epulis measuring more than 6 cm in diameter. This is an overgrowth of gingival tissue and originate in the mouth. to prevent recurrence, regular at home dental care should be used to reduce gingival hyperplasia and if epuli do arise they should be removed before they grow large and pendulous. The second mass was a mast cell tumor and the third was a melanocytoma. Both masses were removed with clean margins. Because she has had a variety of masses, we recommend any changes in her skin be brought to your veterinarian's attention immediately. It would be wise to address changes early with removal if that is appropriate based on your veterinarian's advice.
