Meet Long-Stay Lacey the Lay Around Princess!

When we first sent Lacey home with her short term foster caregiver, Marilyn, we set her up with the expectation that Lacey might be a bit of a handful because in the shelter environment, she can be very excited and distracted. Turns out Lacey is easy as pie and a foster home once again teaches us more about a dog than we ever could have learned here.

Marilyn says:

"Lacey, who has been at PACC for over 5 months, is staying with us for a short term foster to get a break. For the drive to our house and the first few hours she was very active. After calming down she has been a sweet, quiet, compliant girl. The only barking we have heard is one bark when some thunder made us all jump. She likes to be close to us and follows us thru the house.

There have been no accidents and she sleeps thru the night. She has adopted a squeaky stuffed alligator, which she presents when she is ready to play. She is not a compulsive ball chaser and is a little klutzy (out of training too long). Walks on the leash have really improved. I believe with some patient training she will be an easy walk. Lacey is very obedient, coming when she is called and understands NO.

She likes all people and seems comfortable with other dogs. On our walks she doesn’t react to any barking.
Apparently Lacey has been at PACC so long because she doesn’t present well there. That is not the true Lacey. She would make a wonderful low maintenance companion dog."
