Shelter Staff made the following comments about this animal:
04/12/24 10:35 fearful, but sweet. I would continue to approach slowly to prevent him from freaking out. He did well immediately with a female dog, good boy.
05/07/24 10:47 Noticed that he seems to be shut down and depressed. Doesn't get up to greet anyone, stays curled up on the blanket. When I stepped into the kennel to put a leash on him, he tried to avoid me but didn't show any aggression. Easy to take out of the kennel and walk down the aisle to the play yard. Went up and tried to meet a couple of other dogs. Once in the play yard, I carried him to the grassy area and set him down. I sat next to him on the brown. He wouldn't move. I started petting and scratching him and he leaned up against me leg and sat down. I continued to pet and scratch which he seemed to like but he didn't want to look at me. Just gave me his back as if to say, you can scratch my back but that's it. He's didn't trust me enough to give me his belly or even his bum, just his back. When it was time to go back, I picked him up and carried him. No issues. Went back to his blanket and curled up. He's depressed and sad. Needs some time to fall in love again.
