Shelter Staff made the following comments about this animal:
Gordon is a super fun, gentle, and beautiful boy (oh how we adore that gleaming chestnut coat) who loves spending time with staff and volunteers, treats, playing in the yard with toys and sticks, belly rubs, and giving kisses: a perfect mix of handsome and goofball! At the shelter, he is open and curious about making new friends, including humans (kids and adults) and other friendly dogs. He can be shy initially with new people, but he gets comfortable pretty quickly. Gordon is considered one of the smartest dogs in the shelter and picks up new skills fast - he even is learning clicker training!
Because he is still learning new things about the outside world, Gordon would benefit from an adopter can help him and build more experience and confidence around things like riding in cars, walking busy streets, and being in crowded indoor/outdoor spaces: a doggy sibling could also help show him the ropes. With human patience and his level of curiosity, he should be able to gain more confidence quickly.
Gordon does love a good walking or hiking trail where he can be an athletic hiker or a slow sauntering sniffer - he will take your lead here. He is also polite and friendly when meeting others on the trail - people and dogs. He also takes treats with a nice soft mouth. Gordon truly is just about the best dog we know, but don’t take our word for it; come on out to the shelter to see for yourselves!

Gordon’s adoption fee has been waived. He is neutered and microchipped and has age-appropriate vaccinations. A licensing fee may apply.
