Notes from finder:
He seems to do very well in a crate. Knows how to sit, lay down and wait. He likes to bite the leash but just out of boredom I think, he shouldn't take too long to drop that habit, he seems very intelligent. Had no reaction to hearing my dogs barking, although I did not introduce him to dogs or cats so I can't comment on that. He was so sweet, loves toys (especially soft ones) and seems to be a snuggler. He has the saddest eyes. I know he would be a great dog , just needs a chance. Schedule a visit at www.burlingtonnc.gov/visitBAS or stop by our facility during regular business hours!

Dog Day Out, 4/5/24:
Today we went to a trail and walked for 2 miles! He was a perfect gentleman on the leash. We saw other dogs and he didn’t react other than a slight perk up of his head, a wagging tail, and some whines. We took him to a fenced in yard where he spent time finding the perfect spot to bury his toys, he loved to play tug of war with the rope toy and fetch a tennis ball. When we went to lunch he didn’t beg for food and when given food he knew to sit and was very gentle taking the treats! He is an absolute doll. Lots of energy and loves to play but also enjoys climbing in your lap (even though he is definitely too big) and giving lots of kisses. Anyone would be lucky to have Lucky!

Dog Day Out, 2/3/24:
I took Lucky out this past weekend for a hike. He is probably the most affectionate dog I have ever met and seems to love being around people. For the most part, he was good on the leash during the walk, but would bite and pull on the leash and it was hard to get him to let go when we stopped walking. He wasn’t in any way being aggressive, but understandably had some energy. He seems like he would like an active home. He did well with the car ride and is a loving boy!
