I appear to be a neutered male, black and white Pit Bull Terrier.

The shelter staff think I am about 1 year and 7 months old and I weigh 62 pounds.

I was picked up in Charlotte.

I have been at the shelter since Nov 21, 2023.

I am available for adoption.

Toucan Sam is a confident, happy + snuggly guy who has never met a stranger + woo’s when he gets excited! He a man of simple pleasures, like food, walks, car rides, sunbathing, trips to Lowe’s and playing with his favorite toys (which he tosses around in the air). Toucan Sam has blossomed living in foster care, and is ready to find a place to call his furever home!

-Housebroken
-Sleeps through night
-Does well in crate
-Non-destructive
-Dog friendly with female dogs + submissive dogs
-Moderate energy level
-LOVES everyone he meets
-Easy going tempermant
-Walks well on leash, but prey driven
-Loves car rides
-Food motivated, so easier to train
-Confident, happy + snuggly guy
-Loves toys + throws them around when playing (it’s SO cute!)
-Woo’s when he gets excited
-Unbothered king! Doesn’t mind firework, the vacuum, smoke detector, hair dryer, thunder, etc.
-Opininated guy – barks out of excitement/telling you you’re taking too long to get ready for his walk
-Resource guards – needs to be fed separately
-No cats*** - prey driven
-Kids over 12 would be best (resource guarding)
