Rockafella is a good boy. He is a senior guy who has done well to meet and continue to greet the neighborhood children. He is anxious around unknown people and pets. So far, I have been unable to do much about his dislike of cats. It seems to be one of the only things that set him off. He takes 2 walks per day (am and pm), and gets to go out off leash in the back yard as often as he asks. Tank has been wonderful to have. My grandmother and I took Tank up to the pet store to get
some extra toys and treats for him. He loves to play with his toys and loves to sleep. He is a very loving and sweet dog. Tank is house trained and will let you know he needs to go out by barking and going to the door. He loves treats and enjoys Milkbone Dog Biscuits, Puperoni Sticks, and chew sticks.

This smiling boy is Chicken Noodle, a scrumptious soft brown morsel of yumminess who is waiting for his new person to scoop him up. This young man is around 1-1/2 years old and is super friendly, happy, and always a pleasure to be around. He was found as a stray several months ago and was fostered by the finder until recently. Just like his name, Chicken Noodle would love to share a daily dose of warm, cozy comfort, love, and smiles with his new person or family!

A definite perk of working at the shelter is enjoying the companionship of a sweet, four-legged office buddy. This week, Copper was a big help to one of our staff members. He came in as a stray on Monday and was a bit terrified. So, he got to enjoy time in a quiet office where he could get some one-on-one attention and learn that the shelter isn't such a terrible place, after all. Copper is a young boy at around a year old. Dog Day Out, 1/30/24:
We took Luna for a walk through the woods near the shelter and then for a car ride to Elon University. She was somewhat timid there and seemed to want to go for another car ride.

- Walked well on leash (No or low amount of pulling)

He seems to do very well in a crate. Knows how to sit, lay down and wait. He likes to bite the leash but just out of boredom I think, he shouldn't take too long to drop that habit, he seems very intelligent. Had no reaction to hearing my dogs barking, although I did not introduce him to dogs or cats so I can't comment on that. He was so sweet, loves toys (especially soft ones) and seems to be a snuggler. Dixie is almost finished with her heartworm treatment and is doing well but isn't allowed to get excited or play too much for another couple of weeks. Tiny is quick to make friends with any humans; she loves pets and cuddles. She thrives when she can spend time outdoors and can be in a yard unsupervised. She enjoys 1-3 mile walks daily. She is very alert around other dogs and can be guarded. If going to a home with another dog, a proper introduction is necessary. She is housetrained. She gets a little sad when left home alone but has no destructive behaviors. She knows "sit" and "heel".
