I have been at the shelter since May 11, 2023.

Paradise is here to wrap up Tongue Out Tuesday. This pretty brindle girl is about 3 years old and she has been waiting very patiently for someone to come adopt her. She was surrendered due to no fault of her own and lived with another dog in her prior home. She is a sweet, loving girl and she is ready to start a new life with you!

Dog Day Out notes, 11/3/23:
Paradise is the sweetest dog ever! She will just lay by your side and is a great hugger! She is great with a lot of people around her and was friendly to everyone she encountered.... Click my picture to read more about me.

She will bark at the back door when she is ready to come back inside.

What about a superior walking, jogging, or hiking buddy? Bisquet is the one you're looking for! This gorgeous girl is around 3 years old and she was adopted from us in 2022 but surrendered recently because she wasn't getting along with the little dog in the home. She is housetrained, affectionate and sweet, will sit on command, and loves catching treats in the air. She... Click my picture to read more about me.

ANGELICA

(A160624)

Location:
I'm at BAS
I am a spayed female, black and white dog who is estimated to be 1 year, 3 months old.

I was found as a stray in Alamance County and I have been at the shelter since Feb 23, 2024.

I am available for adoption. To schedule a meet and adopt appointment, go to www.burlingtonNC.gov/pets.

We've said this before, but it's the truth--it's amazing what a little TLC and good food can do. This cute little girl is Angelica and she showed up at BAS a little over 3 weeks ago as a stray. She was extremely thin, weighing a mere 29 lbs. She had very little strength or interest in anything, and mostly laid on her bed in her kennel. Fast forward to now and a whole new and much healthier girl has emerged! Angelica has gained almost 20 much needed pounds and looks so much better. More importantly, she has energy and enjoys playtime in our play... Click my picture to read more about me.

BEEPER

I'm at BAS

I was found as a stray in Burlington and I have been at the shelter since Mar 19, 2024.

This stunning girl is Beeper, and she is ready to mesmerize you with her incredible blue eyes and winning personality. Beeper is very friendly and a social butterfly, preferring people over toys. She knows to sit for treats and loves to fly around the play yard, but she always returns for pets and affection from her humans. Beeper was surrendered after a little scuffle with another dog in her prior home. We don't know the details or who instigated the disagreement, so we recommend a meet and greet if you have other dogs. Beeper is 2 years old a... Click my picture to read more about me.

*NONA

(A145273)

Location:
I'm in FOSTER
I am a spayed female, black and white dog who is estimated to be 3 years old. Shelter staff named me Nona.

I was found as a stray in Burlington and I have been at the shelter since Jun 23, 2022.

I am available for adoption! Email fosterpets@burlingtonnc.gov to meet me.

Volunteer notes on Nona:

Do you need a daily dose of sunshine to warm your heart? Beat the heat and adopt Nona instead! This 2-year-old ebony princess is sweet, trusting and loving to her very core. When we are together her main goal is to get as close as possible and solicit my affection. Her positive energy is contagious, like a rush of endorphins that rejuvenate and revitalize my spirit. All is ok in my world once Nona offers her kisses. I have no doubt this mama gave her multiple litters of pups her absolute best. I could sit and rev... Click my picture to read more about me.
NOVA

(A161548)

Location:
I'm at BAS
I am a spayed female, black dog who is estimated to be 1 year, 8 months old.

I was surrendered and I have been at the shelter since Apr 09, 2024.

I am available for adoption. To schedule a meet and adopt appointment, go to www.burlingtonNC.gov/pets.

Zoom, zoom! Nova LOVES to show off her speedy zoomies and play keep away! This little girl is not quite 2 years old, so she is young and spirited. Nova came to us from another shelter to see if she might have better luck finding her forever home here. We sure hope so because this sweetie has spent too much of her young life in a shelter, and it's not the most ideal place for her--way too much stimulation. Nova did live in a foster home for a little while and did fine, so we know a home is exactly what she needs. Nova can be dog reactive, but sh... Click my picture to read more about me.

New foster notes, 2/21/24:
Dixie is almost finished with her heartworm treatment and is doing well but isn't allowed to get excited or play too much for another couple of weeks. She's sweet but doesn't want anyone but me to take her to potty. She loves my great grandkids who are 2 years to 10 years old. She barks when anyone comes to the house but will stop after about 2 minutes when she starts feeling comfortable. She looks out the storm door at other dogs walking by and will bark. She is house trained and will stand in front of you and jus... Click my picture to read more about me.

Dog Day Out, 4/23/24:
Pandora went on a walking loop around Elon’s campus along with me and a few of my friends. She sat up like a lady in the car ride and she was very good on a leash! After our walk, we chilled together where she showed us her tricks (sit, paw, etc.), and she rolled over for some cuddles and belly rubs. She fell asleep in the c... BUTTERCUP

(A161948)

Location:
I'm at BAS

I was found as a stray in Mebane and I have been at the shelter since Apr 25, 2024.

Did you know Buttercups represent humility, joy, new beginnings, happiness, and friendship? That's a lot for such a sweet, tiny flower. But we think it's a fitting name for this stunning, perky-eared girl. Buttercup came to us as a stray last week and we estimate her to be at least a year or so old. Is no one missing this beautiful girl??? She is a friendly, happy, wiggle-butt pup, and she is ready for a whole new beginning in a home where she can share her joy, friendship and love. Buttercup is at BAS and she is waiting to meet you.... Click my picture to read more about me.
