Abby's story starts out a bit sad. Her owner became homeless and so Abby was surrendered to the shelter. In that home, Abby was occasionally a lap cat and enjoy pets. Abby lived in a quiet, adult-only home, so we think a similar situation would be best for her. Abby is shy here in the shelter, but warms up when you spend time with her and she gets to know you. Bluebell flew to New England on a transport from an overcrowded shelter in Texas. Bluebell is very playful, she loves chasing stuffed mice and bringing them to you, she will loudly cry for your attention to show you her catch! Jasper has been through quite a bit of turmoil recently when his owner moved to a retirement home, then he couldn't get along with dogs of the neighbor who took him in. Not surprisingly, he is very shy (he hid his face when getting his vaccines!) but we are hoping that patience and time will allow him to warm up and relax. Because he's not a fan of other animals or unknown people we think he would do best as the only pet in an adult only house.

Madeline was adopted but returned because she was too shy. She has had a bit of difficult time adjusting to life in the shelter with its sounds and smells. Madeline can often be found curled up in her bed but with some soft talk, she will open up for head and cheek pets with a back scratcher and, with time, gentle head pets with your hand. This sweet older lady was very loved by her person, who unfortunately passed away. She is now ready to find her retirement home. She does have some skin allergies that will need to be managed for a bit, but other than that she is very easy going! She would do best in an adult only, quiet home. Matt was a known stray that a good person saw sleeping on his porch from time to time. Matt is still getting used to people bringing good things but he is making great progress. Matt seems to like the regular meals and gentle scratches on his head. We really don't know much about this gorgeous hunk but if you have time and patience (experience with undersocialized cats is highly recommended) to help him realize that life with people can be fun, he awaits visitors in Boston.
