Shelter Staff made the following comments about this animal:
“Meet Courage, the 2-year-old German Shepherd mix weighing in at 83 lbs who arrived at VCAS as a stray in Mid-April 2023, due to having a hard time adjusting shelter environment, he displayed a unique behavior of biting his tail in the kennel, prompting his move to foster care in May. So he could have a quieter space to decompress and thrive.



Upon meeting Courage, he may appear a bit reserved and shy, but you will find out his remarkable temperament towards both people and children. His intelligence is striking, enabling him to grasp new tricks rapidly such as commands like "shake," "sit," and waiting for mealtime permission.



Courage thrives on companionship but also displays exceptional behavior when left alone at home, he's also house-trained, With dedicated training, boundless affection, and genuine attention, he promises to be your ultimate Best Furry Friend – a companion you've always dreamt of.”
