Shelter Staff made the following comments about this animal:
What’s a Shelob you ask? Darned if we know! While we may not know where her name came from, we do know that Shelob is a very very good girl!! She came to the shelter as a stray, and while she was a bit cautious when she first arrived, she’s learned to trust her volunteer friends and enjoy her daily time out of the kennel. Here’s what some of her friends have said:

“I met Shelob for the first time today. She was reluctant to walk too far so we ducked into a play yard. She came over and accepted a lot of treats with quite a bit of petting and head scratching. She initially was nervous but calmed down with reassurance (and treats). She’s a good girl!”

“I have seen a lot of progress with Shelob in her comfort level with people. The last couple of times I have taken her out she has been easy to leash and seems genuinely happy to get out of her kennel. I had her in a yard and she was friendly with me and also independent while exploring. Her kennelmate was in the yard as well and they interacted very well together. Shelob just needs a patient home and I think in return to she will a very loyal companion.”

“Shelob is such a sweetie. Still a little shy, but easy to leash with the offer of a treat. I'm transactional too so I understand Shelob! She walks great and is not reactive to other dogs.”

“Shelob was really friendly and relaxed during our time together. She was friendly and seemed to appreciate pets and interaction with myself and her kennelmate. She and her kennelmate seemed so happy to be out. They were so funny together, with their big smiles and goofy demeanors.”

With a little patience and love from a supportive family, we think Shelob will adjust beautifully to life in a new home. She shares her kennel with a furry friend and has been independent when meeting other dogs in playgroup. She’d like to meet any resident dogs before heading home to make sure it’s a good fit. Ask to meet Shelob today!
