Shelter Staff made the following comments about this animal:
Remmi is an extremely sweet, gentle senior who lived in one home since she was just a puppy. Remmi was housebroken in her former home and preferred older kiddos over young rambunctious ones (me too Remmi!). Remmi spent six months in a foster home- here’s what her foster said:

“Remmi is deeply intelligent and cuddly and she likes both men and women. She loves cooked chicken and turkey but eschews vegetables of all kinds. She enjoys chicken and beef flavors of dry dog food but does not like fish or anything fish smelling.

Remmi enjoys squeaker toys and likes stuffies that squeak as well. She got a walk twice a day and each walk could reasonably be two to four miles and she would be happy. She responds to commands very well. She knows all the regular commands of sit, stay, down, no, go, stop, heel right, heel left. She’s loyal and can be goofy and loves to jump in the bed, and she'll flop her big butt right onto your lap.

Remmi never chewed up anything that was not dog appropriate. She barks when people approach the door and knock but she doesn't bark all day when I'm gone and she doesn't bark incessantly even when neighborhood dogs are barking around us.

Remmi is fairly independent and loves to explore the backyard and graze on grass. She will quickly learn any new command. Consistency with her is the key. She thrives when her person is reliable, consistent, and calm.

Remmi is a beautiful, smart, cuddly, affectionate, and deeply intelligent dog. She is so loved and if I could have kept her, I would have.”

At the shelter, Remmi has been calm, a bit shy, but very loving when given time to warm up. She is very easy to love. Here’s what a few of her volunteer friends had to say:

“I really adore this gentle girl. She’s a bit timid, but very quickly offers a tentative tail wag and even a few quick kisses if you’re calm with her. She is easy to leash, walks very politely with no pulling, and really enjoys sniffing all the interesting smells on her daily walks in the park. On our most recent walk I wanted to take a few pictures of her and she made me laugh- she would give me her beautiful smile or her perky ears, but never both at once! Such a cutie and very deserving of a loving, quiet home.”

“I had not met Remmi when I spotted her in her kennel. She was sitting close to the front of her kennel, very quiet and calm. Remmi was easy to leash and off we went into the night. The first thing I noticed was the lack of pulling on leash. She took care of business and now she could sniff and explore. The walk was very calm and relaxed. I gave her some pets and I gave her a piece of string cheese. I took her on an extra long walk since she was such a great walker. She is an adorable dog and really won over my heart.”

“Remmi is a smart girl. I asked her to go to the back side of the kennel so I could take her out for a walk and she did that immediately. She sat pretty and waited for me to leash her up. Didn't pull nor react to other dogs. She was a bit nervous but enjoyed some pets at the end of our walk.”

Remmi needs time to feel safe with new people, so may do best in a quieter home environment, or one where she has a safe nook of her own to head to when lots of visitors are around. Remmi may be most successful as your one and only and needs to meet any resident dogs if going to a home with other pups. Please ask to meet sweet Remmi today!!
