Shelter Staff made the following comments about this animal: |
Spot is a super sweet and friendly Australian Cattle Dog who came into the shelter injured. He had puss and blood coming from what turned out to be a bullet wound on his right shoulder. He can’t bear weight on that right front leg, and his walk isn’t normal on his back legs either. X-Rays show a comminuted fracture of the right scapula and a comminuted fracture of the left femur. More bullets were found in the poor boy too. Our medical team is keeping him comfortable for now, but he needs more medical care than we can provide as a municipal shelter. Our on staff vet is thinking the front right leg needs an amputation and the left femoral fracture would need to be plated. Due to his medical needs he is currently available for rescue only. Spot is a complicated case, but of course the sweetest dog! |
