Shelter Staff made the following comments about this animal:
***Ross and Fiona are bonded, and they must be adopted together.***

My name is Ross and I am a black domestic shorthair. I am a neutered male and I am 5 months old. I was found as a stray and a family has been caring for me, and the Ames Animal Shelter tooke me in to help find my forever home. I am a good kitty who uses the litterbox! I am a high energy cat (just like all kittens!) and I can live with an owner with no prior pet owning experience. I do not have a history of trying to escape the home, but the shelter staff always recommends owners be mindful that I do not accidentally sneak out on their way out the door. I can be good with men, women, and children. I can be good with other cats and I can be good with dogs.

All cats are tested for Feline Leukemia and Feline Immunodeficiency Virus, and cats over 6 months of age are tested for heartworms. They are also tested for intestinal parasites and receive routine dewormings. Cats are vaccinated against distemper and rabies, receive a flea preventative, are spayed/neutered before adoption, and have a microchip. Adoption fees include the initial automated registration of the microchip at the time of adoption.

Below is information from the family who had been caring for Fiona and Ross:
Two cute black kittens showed up at our house shortly before the major cold and snow spell in January. We brought them into our house to assess them and keep them safe until we could make arrangements for their future, since we already have a full cat household.

"Ross" and "Fiona" got along well with our cats and turned out to be affectionate people-friendly
Sweeties. Ross is more relaxed and persistently curious, and he likes to snuggle on laps. Fiona is bolder and faster to explore, and she likes being picked up and petted. They enjoy grooming each other and are enthusiastic playmates. Chasing each other and batting crumpled-paper balls across the kitchen were favorite games. A pole-and-string feather toy was often pursued with lots of leaping
