SHELAGH - ID#A924160

My name is SHELAGH.

I am a spayed female, tan Bulldog mix.

The shelter staff think I am about 2 years and 3 months old.

I have been at the shelter since Jul 14, 2022.

This information is less than 1 hour old.
Shelter Staff made the following comments about this animal:
Shelagh is a young, medium sized, bully mix that arrived as a stray but was never claimed. We estimate she's about 2 years old.

She was quite nervous when she first arrived. Fortunately, she loves cookies and is eager for affection. Once she's comfortable with you she enjoys cuddling and is very playful. Watch your knees! This goofy girl can play rough and doesn't seem to know her own strength!

She does not seem to like other dogs and can be especially reactive through fences. For this reason, we are recommending she be the only animal in the home. Condo dwellers beware, it can be challenging to manage a reactive dog in tight hallways/elevators.

Shelagh has a couple of medical conditions. Neither of these issues currently require any treatment, but will require monitoring. Please give us a call to discuss.

Shelagh's ideal family would have previous experience owning a dog. She's a higher energy dog that's NOT suitable for off-leash parks. She's a "smarty pants" and would really enjoy brain games. She currently lacks manners but will work for food! She is nervous of strangers, although she tends to warm-up quickly. Professional help with positive-reinforcement training is strongly recommended. Shelagh may do well in a home with older, dog-savvy children so all family members must be present for the meet and greet.

If you think Shelagh might be the right fit for your family, then please contact Toronto Animal Services West shelter at 416-338-6271 during regular business hours for more information. Meet & greets and adoptions are scheduled BY APPOINTMENT ONLY!
