Meet Venus!!

Venus is an approximately 2 year old, female spayed, Mastiff mix who arrived at the shelter as a stray with her sister. Venus has been with TAS for a few months and she is ready to find her new forever home!

Venus is a high-spirited, energetic girl who is always happy to see you! She loves to spend time outside where she can run and play freely. She is full of life, happy and very playful! She is looking for a family that has experience with high energy dogs (and who will spoil her with belly rubs!) When it comes to meeting new people, Venus is easily excitable and will jump up to meet her new friends.

While under the care of Toronto Animal Services, Venus was able to spend time at a training facility where she learned some basic skills and obedience. Venus is an eager learner and made good progress during her training. She responds well to positive reinforcement and clicker/treat training, and has learned how to walk on a harness. Venus also worked on her reactive interactions with other dogs, but still is not the biggest fan of them. For this reason, she would need to be in a single-dog household. She would also do best in a home without any small children or small pets (cats, pocket pets, etc). Venus' new family will have to be patient and willing to continue to work on improving the skills she has learned thus far. As with any new furry addition, integrating a pet into a new home is both exciting and rewarding! Lots of patience and consistency in her training and routine will help Venus adapt to her new life.

While in the shelter, Venus has been vaccinated, dewormed, spayed and microchipped.

Venus is ready to find her fur-ever home! If you think she would be a good fit for you, please call the North Shelter at (416) 338-8723 between 10:30am - 6:30pm to discuss the adoption process.

Thank you for considering Venus!
