* Capulina is currently not living at the shelter but still available for adoption so please email asoanimaladoption@austintexas.gov for next steps, if you are interested in meeting her!*

We are pleased to introduce you to Capulina, a mature, laid back 4 year old beauty who is frequently seen smiling in her pictures!

Capulina got to AAC in February, so we are still learning more and more about her. Here’s what Volunteers have observed about her so far…

She loves kisses and sniffs- always one or the other! She is affectionate and also curious of her surroundings. We have observed signs of her being housetrained as she frequently goes to the bathroom in designated spots at the shelter. She also has great leash manners. She will check in with her caretaker, and does not pull or react to distractions. She is also playful and really thrived running around in our agility yard.

Our Volunteer who took Capulina on a long walk introduced her to her older child, and Capulina was very affectionate and sweet. Because of her laid back temperament, she may do well in a household with older children. To ensure compatibility, our staff is always available to host a meet up prior to adoption.

Adopting a middle aged dog like Capulina comes with many benefits. For starters, she has already shown signs of house training so when you establish a routine in your home, she is likely to pick this up quickly, making the transition easy for you both! Middle aged dogs with laid back temperaments like Capulina will make a loyal family member even if you have a busy schedule. We know that this mature and laid back lady is going to make a great addition to a home!
