Shelter Staff made the following comments about this animal:
Bella is a 2 year old sweetheart who has been at AAC since June. She will gladly trade in her “Long Term Resident” badge for a loving family and forever home. Here are some things that make Bella an all star candidate to be your forever pup:

• She is extremely house trained.
• Volunteers and Staff describe her as “intelligent, delightful and very people friendly”
• She’s food and treat motivated, making her a great partner for learning tricks and basic commands. She knows Come and Sit already!
• Playful and affectionate - Volunteers have noted she loves playing with a ball, exploring new places, and seeks out affection with her wiggly tail.
• Medium energy - She tires out quickly and will be more than happy to play with toys inside or at your feet. Still, she loved going on a recent outing to the lake!

The stress of being in the shelter is getting to Bella, though, so we’re hoping that a loving owner can adopt her ASAP. Here’s what one of our Volunteers wrote about Bella after taking her on an outing, “She is a little nugget. She would bring her stuffed toys to my feet. Her shelter stress is reflected in connecting with humans - it takes her a few minutes to warm up to someone new, but then she will lean in for love and affection. She needs an owner who understands she needs time to decompress, but in her future home will be a sweet pea wanting to be by peoples sides.”

At AAC our pups are walked by volunteer and staff only 1-2 times per day, and oftentimes it is new volunteers and staff doing so. We can’t blame Bella for being a little wary of new and old friend. Her life is unstable, but because so many volunteers and staff report her to be so friendly and full of love, we know that a consistent caregiver is exactly what she needs.

While Bella has been friendly with other pups, we do want to note that because of recent shelter stress, Bella is going to be best in a home with no other animals OR with an owner who can do slow and supervised introductions. We have staff at AAC that will host a doggy meet up to ensure compatibility as well. Bella is a mature, well mannered beautiful pup who is yearning for consistency and love. She is advocated by MANY volunteers and staff and we’d love to connect you to her to see if she’s a great fit!
