Sweet Roxie has had her heart broken one too many times. It is no surprise then that she can be shy around new people. But once Roxie realizes you want to be her friend, she quickly opens up. She is easy to harness and a loose-leash walker. On walks, Roxie loves sniffing and exploring. She shows some interest in squirrels but can keep her cool. She sits nicely for treats and often leans into her person asking for affection—bring on those butt scratches and belly rubs. She is also happy to entertain herself with chew toys. At the shelter, Roxie has shown friendly interest in other dogs and could potentially live with a doggie friend.
Abandonment, physical pain, and no place to call home are all part of Roxie’s past, but every day she hopes someone can give her a brighter future. Roxie is looking for a stable home, lots of treats, and the affection she deserves. She can’t wait to find her new forever person or family so come by and meet her.
