Tajin is a volunteer favorite and adored by all his foster parents for so many reasons: number one being his ability to treat every day like the best day ever.

His many friends have affectionately dubbed him “Panda Man” for his black and white coloring and his always happy demeanor. Tajin is an extrovert who becomes fast friends with any sturdy human willing to offer pets or snacks.

Unfortunately, what we know about his early days isn't so cheery—he came into the shelter as part of a cruelty case over two years ago. Unexpectedly, Tajin found joy and security in the concrete chaos of kennel life... because for the first time in his life, he felt safe and loved. Volunteers fell in love with his joyful presence and the Panda Man's fan club grew. As we got to know his friendly and lovable personality, we couldn't understand why adopters kept passing on this Very Good Boy (VGB)! But pitbull stigma and breed restrictions are endemic in our community...

Last year, Tajin was lucky to catch the eye of a UT student and score his first foster home! His shelter besties cheered him on as he left to major in VGB... and experienced the comfort of being in a home for the first time in his life. He spent spring semester on campus—the Longhorn Party Panda is another story for another day =). Tajin has proved himself to be completely house trained, non-destructive when left alone, able to live in a busy apartment, and he absolutely loved being the center of attention of his college roomies. When the semester was over, he moved into the home of one of his volunteer besties to avoid another shelter stay, then later moved into yet another wonderful foster home.

Along with this perfect 5-star Airbnb guest comes popularity and fame by proxy! Tajin is a three-time star, making appearances on local TV in 2022, 2023, and 2024, his portrait has hung at the Austin airport, and he has a fan club of baristas and bartenders from all of his field trips to local coffee shops and breweries—he was even voted Big Man on Campus at UT. Since by now we know Tajin REALLY well, we're confident we can find...
