What has cute spots, perky ears, and the happiest personality? It’s Lohi!! This handsome middle ager came to the shelter after being confiscated from a less than ideal situation. He quickly became a volunteer favorite and even spent some time being fostered by one of his friends at the shelter:

“I fostered Lohi for three weeks after bonding with him at PACC. Lohi was in the shelter for seven months and is a true hidden gem. I learned a lot about him in the weeks he was with me, and he passed everything with flying colors!!! First off, he loves car rides and was very well behaved. After just one day, I found Lohi to be very playful- he loves his toys but is respectful of them. He entertains himself if given his favorite toys. He absolutely loves beds, sofas, etc… Lohi seems to have a significant amount of cattle dog in him (in my opinion)- he is a very smart dog and just wants to please the person/people he’s with. I had relatives over while he was with me and Lohi did great. He is very obedient, rarely if ever barked, and absolutely loves going for walks. He is also very housebroken!!! Please consider Lohi…he’s such a deserving boy!!”

Back in the shelter, Lohi loves his daily walks and sniffing all the interesting scents in the park, and he walks well on leash. He’d love to find a person to take him on a daily stroll! Here’s what his volunteer friends have said:

“Lohi is in my Top 5 current favorite PACC pups! He has become a great walker, focusing his attention on his handler and maintaining a loose leash. He loves to play fetch with a tennis ball in the yard and will drop the ball upon command or in exchange for a small treat. He has a million-dollar smile, is always happy to see his people, and appreciates a good ear scritch. He is treat motivated and has proven to be easily trainable. He will certainly blossom into a wonderful companion for an active individual or family.” “I took Lohi on a hike today. He’s a good car passenger- stayed in his place and looked out calmly. As usual, he was a pleasure to walk. Afterwards we went to a ballpark and he was so happy being able to run flat out, chasing a ball.”

“I’ve walked this lovely boy many, many times. He`s easy to leash and walks loose leash. All he wants is love and attention. He also loves chasing a tennis ball.”

“Lohi is the dog you want to take out when you need a lift. Perfect manners, pays attention, and loves to play ball. He’s very easy to please and fun to spend time with. His little bounces when he goes after a ball are hilarious.”

“Lohi is a joy to walk. He has a great kennel routine and is easy to leash. Once outside, we settled into a brisk pace to explore all the interesting scents in the wash. He checks in regularly with good eye contact and enjoys simple touch and affection. We take frequent breaks to enjoy a few treats, which he takes politely from my hand with a gentle mouth. Once back in his kennel, he sat calmly and patiently for unleashing and treats. Lohi is a fine dog. I look forward to taking him out again soon.”

Lohi would like to meet any resident dogs before heading home to make sure it’s a good fit. Grab a few tennis balls and ask to meet Lohi today!!
