Shelter Staff made the following comments about this animal:
Chandler is a sensitive young boy who would love to find a quiet home with a supportive family who can help him build up his confidence! Chandler came to the shelter as a stray so is looking to move on up in life and have a place indoors right by his family’s side. Here’s what his volunteer friends have said about him:

“Chandler continues to warm up to people. Today he was very easy to leash and exit. He really would love a running partner as he wants to run at first. He tries so hard to be courageous and get pets but he’s still a little unsure. I never push him and just sit in the grass and let him explore as he’s comfortable. Today he came right up and gave me kisses but still didn’t want me to pet his head. He had the best time rolling in the grass on the hill.”

“Chandler was a little shy when I entered his kennel. He was excited for treats and would wait with four feet on the floor to get rewards. He was a little head shy for leashing, but fine once the leash was on. He was eager to leave the kennel and immediately set out to explore the play yard and even got the zoomies! It was adorable. He sped around the yard and then ran straight to my side, sniffing me quietly. From my experience with him today, it seems like he would be quick to open up in an environment where he feels safe. He also seems like he’d do well with some training and structure to help him build confidence.”

“Chandler has come a LONG way since he first got to shelter. He’s still a little shy when you first meet him, but he was very outgoing on our walk. He had a serious case of the zoomies and kept trying to get me to run. He was smiling and wagging the whole time. He still doesn’t seek affection but comes close and sniffs. He is really progressing!”

Chandler was running the streets with a gang of puppy pals and has shared his kennel with a variety of roommates during his stay at the shelter. He has been playful and social when meeting other dogs in playgroup, though he’d still like to meet any resident dogs before heading home to make sure it’s a good fit. If you can help a shy guy out, ask to meet Chandler today!!
