Shelter Staff made the following comments about this animal:
Gino is a young hunk who always seems to be smiling. No really- he has a happy face and always seems to be grinning. He’s so dang cute! Gino came to the shelter as a stray so his pre-PACC past is a mystery. But, based on his name he’s clearly Italian, so we assume he loves pasta, renaissance art, and Vespas. Who doesn’t?!?

Gino was adopted and spent nearly a year in a home. He’s found himself back at the shelter through no fault of his own, and we’d love to see him find a forever family soon. In his adoptive home Gino did well with kids and was reportedly housebroken and crate trained. His family described him as an affectionate boy who loves to nap and be lazy with his people. In another short-term home Gino was described as a sweet, playful boy who takes treats nicely and once again did well with kids. They also said he is a “complete angel”.

Gino is a big, strong guy and really needs a savvy family and a secure yard to keep him safe and sound. Here’s what some of his volunteer pals had to say about him:

“Gino makes me smile. Whenever I pass by his kennel he’s usually lying on his bed with a toy in his mouth or standing there expectantly with a smile on his face. He is such a fun, adorable and goofy guy.”

“Gino and I go for early morning walks regularly, and he has been a very good boy for me. He comes right to the door and is easy to leash. We usually walk south through the desert towards the bike path, and he enjoys taking his time exploring. We stop occasionally for me to give him a chicken treat, which he takes with a soft mouth.”

“Gino is a big boy and that means big cuddles. I took him to play yard the other night and instead of exploring, he just wanted to climb in my lap for snuggles. He’s gentle for his size, and really appreciates neck, head, and ear rubs- he also groans and grunts like a piglet to let you know you hit the right spot. In the right home, Gino will be such a great, loving companion.”

Gino is a very sweet boy who will do great with a family who will work with him on a bit of training and give him a lot of love! He warms up quickly to new folks and really enjoys love and affection. Gino will likely do best as your one and only. Ask about Gino today so he can say ciao to the shelter!
