Shelter Staff made the following comments about this animal:
Ollie is a sweet, gentle lady looking for a quiet home and a family to bond with! She’s been through a lot during her time at the shelter- she was very overwhelmed when she first arrived and worked hard to learn to trust her staff and volunteer friends. She survived a painful bone infection in her foot and the amputation of a toe, leaving her with a funny little pterodactyl paw. Then, she was diagnosed with a thyroid issue which had her feeling pretty crummy and packing on the pounds. Now, on the right medication, Ollie is trim, slim, and feeling great!!

Ollie recently spent a day out on the town with a staff member- here’s what they said:

“Ollie is a pup who rates five stars with just four feet (and slightly fewer toes than she started with)! Yesterday was her first field trip and she ROCKED it! Ollie stopped by all the Bookman’s in town and enjoyed comfy cozy reading time. She was very patient and polite with everyone she met and sat pretty for so many photos! She dazzled folks at Starbucks and managed to snag a venti Puppuccino. Don’t worry- she didn’t finish all the whipped cream and saved room for regular treats!

Ollie headed to PetsMart and picked out her own rawhide. She loved it so much she slept with it by her nose during her ride back! She is a slow and easy walker who always keeps a loose leash. While walking at Reid Park, she didn’t show any reactivity to people, other dogs, or wildlife. We enjoyed a long walk around the baseball fields before racing back to the car in the rain. Ollie does well in the car, but takes time to settle in the backseat. Ollie is really a gem and did fantastically well with a moderately active day out. I’d take her if I could, but I know there’s got to be someone out there who can use an Ollie of their own and who will appreciate all the love she has to give!”

Ollie loves to nap and snores like a freight train, so a soft place for her to rest and get her beauty sleep in her future home is a must. She’s done well with a variety of kennelmates and was appropriate when meeting other dogs in her most recent behavior evaluation, however she likely will do best as your one and only pet. Ask to meet Ollie-potamus today!!
