Little Miss Tessa came to Longmeadow with another pony after her owner passed away. It took her some time to get used to her new life here at the Ranch. As time went on, however, and as she was introduced to other horses after her routine quarantine ended, Tessa began to settle in. She made friends with other equine and began to enjoy the company of humans. Before we knew it, she was ready to be evaluated by our trainers.

Upon evaluation, our trainers found that Tessa knew certain cues that made them suspect that she had a history of training under saddle. Our head trainer believes, however, some time has passed since Tessa’s previous training, so she is currently being restarted under saddle. Tessa is now being ridden at the walk and trot OFF the lunge line in our indoor arena and is doing very well! She will require an intermediate handler and rider while she continues to work on her skills under saddle and patience on the ground. We think Tessa would excel with an adopter who can handle her sassy opinions and redirect her in a positive way.
