EMERGENCY PLACEMENT DEADLINE 3PM 01/03/24
Name: Bruce
Animal ID: A699447
Age: 4 years
Weight: 47.60 lbs.
About: This is Bruce, a 4-year-old black and tan shepherd mix who is looking for a home. Bruce is available for foster care or adoption through PACC but must leave the shelter no later than 3pm on 01/03/23.
This is Bruce’s second visit to PACC. He first came to PACC in February of 2020 as a stray but fortunately he only spent a couple of days in the shelter before he was returned home. Again, Bruce is back at the shelter as a stray but this time his owner has not responded and come to PACC to reclaim him.
Bruce was brought to PACC when he was caught by one of our Animal Protection Officers while running loose in a neighborhood with another dog named Gina A666302, who is also at the shelter and available for adoption. The two of them had been reported loose in the neighborhood for a week. While Bruce and Gina were out, Bruce did approach and bite someone, please see attachment for all redacted notes that include the bite report.
While in the shelter Bruce has been nervous when meeting new people and needs encouragement when coming out of his kennel, but with slow easy movements he has been going out for walks daily and socializing with handlers. Bruce will need a home that can provide a secure yard for when he is spending time outside, patience with allowing him time to decompress while he is adjusting to his new home.
PACC continues to be at full capacity. If you are interested in fostering or adopting a pet, please come to PACC. Any dog that leaves the shelter, either going to foster care or being adopted, is helping the shelter with overcrowding.
