Shelter Staff made the following comments about this animal:
"There's no place like home." These words were spoken by my namesake, Dorothy from the Wizard of Oz and could not more true. I cam to Front Street through no fault of my own, with my friend Toto. Yep, you guessed it, he was a little black terrier! I was happy for Toto when he was adopted, but honestly a little sad for myself that I wasn't going too. My volunteers tell me to keep my chin up because they are sure the perfect family will find me and take me home. I am great with other dogs, so after a proper introduction, I will fit right in with any resident pups. I really like walks and will sit once I see the leash. I am pretty good at "sit" if I do say so myself. I also really like treats but get a little too excited when I see them, so my volunteers are helping me to learn to accept them a little less, um let's say, enthusiastically! Something about "gentle".... I would make the perfect family dog, as I am snuggly and affectionate and would love to be in a home where I can go out on adventures. CHECK OUT MY VIDEO and please come meet me!

Please remember that the shelter is a stressful environment; many dogs come to Front Street as strays without any known history. While staff and volunteers do their best to learn about each dog, behavior in the shelter is not always the same as behavior in a home. Keeping the 3/3/3 Decompression Rule in mind is important. Three days for initial decompression, three weeks to learn the routines of your household, and three months to start to feel relaxed and safe in the home. When you adopt, foster, or are a new pet parent, it's especially important to consider.
