Shelter Staff made the following comments about this animal:
Hi I'm Blue, and I'm such a good boy! I know my name and respond well to it. In my foster home, I do great with dogs who don't try to steal my toys or treats, and I'm very respectful of "my baby" (a 20 month old toddler). I love to keep an eye on her while she plays, but sometimes I like to steal her toys for myself when she's not looking! Probably my favorite thing in the whole world is FOOD! I will do just about anything get people food, so I need an owner who has this awareness and can keep food that isn't for me out of my reach. Luckily for my foster parents, I can't reach the counters but I have figured out how to get up on the table (via chairs) when food is left there. There are cats in my foster home, but I am not sure how to nicely play with them so it's best if I am in a dog only home, or a home with an extremely dog savvy cat and owner. I want very much to be a "velcro dog" that follows you everywhere and lies nearby. I get sad when I am left alone for a long time and can be very whiney when my people return to let you know I missed you. I love using my doggie door, I don't have any accidents if I have access to my yard. I enjoy car rides but haven't been out too much since I've been recovering since I was hit by a car before coming to Front Street. I have been healing nicely, but I have put on some weight in my recovery since I was limited in my activities. I would really benefit from being active again and taking walks and going on adventures with my new family! I have some training under my belt knowing basic commands and occasionally I'll even do more advanced tricks like taking a bow! My foster mom says it's important for my new family to know that I am a "runner" and given the chance will run out an open door or gate. So my new family should understand that and be very careful. That tendency is likely how I ended up getting out, hit, and landing at Front Street in the first place! So please don't let that happen again! Overall I'd be a great dog for a family with kids who have a nice yard, or a work from home professional looking for a very handsome assistant!
