Sam- I am a smart, high energy dog who loves to play, and am eager to please my humans! I am a strong puller on the leash (there’s so much ground to cover and stuff to smell!) and seem excited to play with other dogs. I am good at playing fetch and know how to sit. I

Sam is a smart, sweet, handler attentive boy. He seems to be overlooked in the shelter and I'm not sure why. It could be his size or that due to his intelligence, length of stay, and lack of exercise, he can be vocal as soon as someone approaches as he begs to be taken out. That being said, once he has a few minutes to run out some energy, he is actually a very calm pup that makes me hesitate to call him high energy. He loves to do tricks for treats and would thrive in a home that truly understands the need for both mental engagement and physical exercise. He likes human affection and seems interested in playing with dogs. Sam likes to play fetch and knows "sit". He will need some work on his leash skills as he has a tendency to pull. I'm not sure he is a GSD mix but definitely has some type of working breed in his beautiful mix! As Sam approaches the two-month mark in the shelter, I worry more about him by the day. Help find this happy boy a new home, or better yet, add him to yours!
