Shelter Staff made the following comments about this animal:
Given her calm and easygoing nature, as well as her ability to quickly warm up to others, Ava seems well-suited for various activities and environments. Here are some ideas for further training or activities you could explore with Ava:

1. Basic obedience training: Since Ava already knows "sit," you can continue to build on her obedience skills by teaching her other commands such as "stay," "come," "down," and "heel." Consistent training sessions with positive reinforcement will help reinforce her training and strengthen your bond.

2. Socialization: Since Ava can be shy at first but becomes social quickly, it's important to continue exposing her to different people, animals, and environments in a positive way. This will help her build confidence and become even more comfortable in various situations.3.

3. Therapy or service work: With her calm and friendly demeanor, Ava might make an excellent therapy or service dog. Consider enrolling her in training programs tailored to these roles if you're interested in pursuing this path.

4. Regular exercise: Like all dogs, Ava will benefit from regular exercise to keep her physically and mentally healthy. Daily walks, hikes, or play sessions in the backyard will help burn off excess energy and prevent boredom.

5. Enrichment activities: Provide Ava with puzzle toys, interactive feeders, or hide-and-seek games to keep her mentally stimulated and prevent boredom when you're not available to engage with her directly.

***Remember to always supervise Ava around new people, animals, or environments, especially during the initial stages of socialization. Positive experiences will help build her confidence and strengthen your relationship with her.

If Ava sounds like the dog for you, stop by our shelter Tuesday through Saturday 10am to 6pm to meet this sweet, smart, lovely girl. You won't be disasppointed.
