Shelter Staff made the following comments about this animal:
Gus was previously rescued by Longmeadow, then adopted and then returned. He was used in the lesson program for a brief time until we realized he was having issues with his back. Gus has been diagnosed with Kissing Spine and CAN NO LONGER BE RIDDEN. He is in pain when he has weight on his back BUT the good news is that he is comfortable just being a companion horse.

Gus is easy to catch, lead and load in a trailer. He is good for the farrier but he can be crabby for vaccinations, deworming and getting his temperature taken. He knows how to behavior and he requires a home who knows how to work with him.

He gets along well with other horses and is an easy keeper. He tends to get on the heavy side and his weight should be watched so that his back isn't stressed.

He's big and handsome. He has gorgeous amber colored eyes.

Adoption fee: $200

Height: 15 hh
